It’s been an honour and privilege to serve and help the members of CUPE 402 and it’s sub-locals in their time of need.  I have advised and helped them through very trying times emotionally and financially until they were able to get their feet back under themselves.  Whether it be accommodation, return to work, employment insurance of long term disability advice, I am just  a phone call away.

I have attended almost every council meeting for over the last decade.  The unions presence has been noticed by the Mayor and Council and as a result I have forged a positive relationship with not only Council, but staff as well.

I am a member of the Health and Safety Committee and help the membership navigate their way through this  often times very emotional and confusing scenario. Successful in a number of cases of getting members accommodation instead of discipline.

Recently successful in turning around a large number of larege number from termination to a disciline tnd keeping their jobs.

I have been a proud member of CUPE 402 for 16 years and I am a firm believer in mentoring new executives, shop stewards and practice this belief almost daily.  I will bring them into investigations, accommodations, discipline and termination meetings so that they may get the on the job experience they need to complete their training to be effective advocates for the members.

Back when I was a member of the IWA and a Union Activisst, I was mentored by the likes of Jack Munro and Jerry Stoney when they were Presidents of their respective Locals, both eventually becoming president of IWA.   I am both proud and honoured to add Laurie Larsen’s name to that esteemed list.

I bring a lifetime of Labour/Management experience to the table and I believe a calm and reasoned approach to these matters is the course we as a Union should navigate. Number (604-328-0150)
